back with my slice of life for the Fall 2011 season, Tamayura~hitotose, episode 5. After a few bumps getting to Takehara (luckily, Fu’s mother’s old biker gang was in town and loaned her a bike to go pick her up), Chihiro has finally arrived to visit Fu-nyon.
Though she’s quite prone to waterworks, Chihiro-chan is able to somewhat hold it together throughout her visit, and is very happy to see Fu-nyon, and even happier to see that Fu, herself, is happy. After a quick introduction, and good while of awkward quietness, Chihiro, Fu, and friends take a tour around the city. Chihiro slowly comes out of her shell and starts to really click with Norie, Kaoru, and Maon. She also gets to meet a few of the locals, like the owner of the okonomiyaki shop and Momoneko, much to Chihiro’s delight. But the real bonding has yet to begin, as Kaoru receives a message from her older sister…
“Today is an ideal day for an expedition”… Thus began the great hike to Kurotaki Hill (near where Chihiro accidentally got off of the train early). This walk (more like a trek) took up most of their day, but, in my opinion, really bonded the five girls, especially bringing them together once they reached the top of the hill. Finally out of her shell, Chihiro tells everyone that she a new character for each of them (each of her new friends, is another way to put it). Everyone is eager to pick out their new keepsake, and Chihiro leaves, in my opinion, inspired to make new friends back home, just as she has in Takehara.
Which brings me to the end of another episode of that slice of life I look forward to all week, Tamayura~hitotose. The next episode seems to have an important day in store, or at least hopes for an important day (I kinda like teasers that make me guess)…
Until next time,
