back again for the second catch-up of the night, premier for the Fall 2011 series, Ben-to. A very…action-packed….premier, to say the least. I’ve definitely never seen anything quite like it before…
While innocently reaching for some half-priced bento, Yō Satō finds himself beaten up on the floor of a supermarket. He soon learns that getting half-priced bento in this supermarket is an all-out brawl between students. Yō is invited to the Half-Priced Food Lovers Club by one of the top fighters, Sen Yarizui, in order to train to compete in these battles.
“Battles” is a bit of a misnomer, they’re more like all out street fights where it’s every man for himself and the weak perish by the wayside as the strongest (or luckiest) fighter walks away with…..half-priced bento…
The logic (if there is any) behind these brawls is unclear, but I’m intrigued. Especially by one of the top fighters in the market, the Ice Witch, Sena. I honestly have no clue where this series plans to go, so you know I’m going to follow it and find out. Recommended as a good “fight night” show, we’ll see if the plot goes anywhere or if it’s just good ole violence.
Until next time,
