back and pumped over Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, my favorite pre-pick of the Fall 2011 season. I didn’t pick wrong, Horizon blows me away with the first episode, just everything: the characters, the designs, the action, it all screams to what I look for in an anime. It’s like Code Geass (in backstory) meets Infinite Stratos (in action) meets Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko (in design).
The first episode did a great job of generally introducing the cast and begins to set up the background history. While it’s still unclear as to what specifically happened, but it appears that humanity drove itself into war, and now the prefecture (I’m not sure of terminology) that our main cast lives in is being kept (somehow) underfoot of the other prefectures and empires.
Something historic happened 10 years prior to the story, wherein “Horizon” died, details are still unclear, but what is clear (thanks to the narration at the end) is that a new war to “re-write” humanity’s history is about to begin, just how I like it.
The action kicks off right out the gate, the story seems pulse-poudning so far, and the view isn’t too bad neither. I may need to skip a few important things so I can properly enjoy this series (classes aren’t that important, right?). Can’t wait until next week.
Until next time,
