Ikoku Meiro no Croisee – Skylight

Hey minna,

Back to fret over sweet Yune in the 7th episode of Ikoku Meiro no Croisee, “Skylight”.  So far, both Yune and Claude have learned how to come closer, more like a family, and that their differences in culture aren’t an excuse to not open up to each other. Alice is still trying to snatch Yune away from Ensignes du Roy and Yune still struggles to understand the intricacies of the social system in Paris.

What?! Yune is sick?!?! Call the doctor, prep the ER!!! Oh, it’s just a cold…Yune’s just as much a cutie when she’s ill.  As unfortunate as this may seem, Yune’s cold has some benefits, this makes Claude get past his pride and ask Alice for help, she calls a doctor who diagnoses Yune and prescribes nutritious food and rest.  But Alice isn’t the only one Claude comes to an understanding with, even the young boy Yune wanted to help comes by the shop, learns that Yune is sick, and goes out of his way to prepare his own gift. He also learns from Yune, and refuses to steal the flowers for Yune, and, even though they appeared to be mere weeds, it still managed to touch both Yune’s and, I believe, Claude’s hearts.

If only the dialogue wasn’t wasted on spelling everything out; Yune already admitted to wanting to share the pain of the young boy trying to find his place in Paris, but Claude apparently needs to repeat and think out loud to come to the conclusion that Yune also wants to find her place in Paris.

The next episode seems to delve deeper into the relationship between Claude and Alice’s sister, Camille.  Going back to when they were children, perhaps more than meets the eye?

skylightUntil next time,
